Los Angeles Sparks at Indiana Fever (-12) €“ O/U 173.5 (-110/-110)

Wednesday night’s lone WNBA game features the Indiana Fever hosting the Los Angeles Sparks. It’s a matchup between one of the league’s hottest squads and the team with the worst record. Let’s break down how to bet on tonight’s showdown.

Indiana has been on fire since the WNBA season resumed in August. In fact, the Fever have led the league in points per game (91.1), three-point shooting (40.7%), three-pointers made per game (11.9), and offensive rating (111.1) since the Olympic break. Their offense just put up 100 points in back-to-back wins with no signs of slowing down.

Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark are leading the offensive surge right now. Since the break, Mitchell is averaging 26.7 PPG while Clark is putting up 24.6 PPG. They’re second and third in the WNBA in scoring, respectively, during this stretch. They’ve also both been efficient three-point shooters this month with Mitchell at 46.7% and Clark at 38.6%.

We should expect Indiana to light up the scoreboard once again tonight in an easy home matchup. The Sparks have allowed 88.8 PPG since the Olympic break and opponents are shooting a league-high 37.2% from three against them this season. Los Angeles has arguably the worst defense in the league and the struggles to defend the perimeter play right into Indiana’s strengths.

As Indiana puts up plenty of points, LA can also add to the total here. The Fever have their own defensive struggles, allowing 86.5 PPG this season (second-most in the WNBA). Plus, since the break, they’re allowing opponents to make a league-high 10.3 three-pointers per game at a 37.3% shooting clip.

Admittedly, the Sparks have one of the worst offenses in the WNBA this season. Still, they recently scored 110 and 94 points against Chicago and New York, respectively. They can take advantage of a softer matchup here, especially in a fast-paced environment. Over the past two weeks since the season resumed, the Sparks rank second and the Fever third in pace across the league.

Grab the Over in this one. Indiana is 7-4 to the Over in its past 11 games and 9-5 to the Over at home so far this season.

WNBA Pick: Over 173.5 Total Points (-110)
