TRFC Week 5 Recap: Lsf618 Wins It With Seven 20-Pointers

TRFC Week 5 Recap: Lsf618 Wins It With Seven 20-Pointers

October 14, 2015 – by Seth Trachtman

After a low scoring Week 4, there were plenty of FanDuel points to be had in Week 5.

In the TeamRankings Football Challenge, our weekly FanDuel tournament for TeamRankings users, lsf618 finished in first by 28.64 points with a final score of 195.94. The field was no match for his dominant performance.

TeamRankings Football Challenge Week 5 Details

Our Week 5 contest had a $10 entry fee, with a guaranteed $6,000 prize pool distributed to the top 300 scores, which each doubled their money.

Last week, for the first time in 3 weeks, the tournament didn’t fill, with 606 entries out of a maximum 660. Those who played therefore enjoyed higher win odds and much better expected payouts than typical FanDuel contests.

With thousands of people entering FanDuel contests with much lower expected returns, this is a great time to remind the world why our weekly tournament is such a great value.

As usual, the top three finishers in Week 5 each won a free entry into our $25,000 Week 11 Final, where they are all guaranteed to win a minimum of $500, up to the grand prize of $3,000.

Make sure to enter our Week 6 tourney as early as you can — there are only five weekly tourneys left!

Week 5 Winners

Lsf618 claimed first place, followed by atlasportsball in second. 6mil finished in third place with three identical rosters (too bad that’s not good for three entries into the Week 11 Final, but it’s still worth at least $500!).

This week’s winning rosters had more variety than last week, since it was a higher scoring week across the board.

Here are the winning lineups for Week 5:

1st Place – lsf618

TR Week 5 1st

2nd Place – atlasportsball

TR Week 5 2nd

3rd Place – 6mil

TR Week 5 3rd

Analysis of the Winners

lsf618 won with great consistency from his entire lineup and his Giants stack of Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. He got at least 20 points from seven of his nine spots. He also had six unique players among the lineups (Manning, Justin Forsett, Beckham Jr., Willie Snead, Tyler Eifert, and Justin Tucker).atlasportsball got great value from a big Patriots stack of Tom Brady, Dion Lewis, Julian Edelman, and Stephen Gostkowski. Brady and Edelman weren’t unique buys, but they did help prop up the roster, along with a 15 point performance from Gostkowski. The unique players included Lewis, Ladarius Green, and Gostkowski.6mil was especially notable because of their three identical lineups tying for third place. Those lineups earned $60 now, and also one seat in the Week 11 Finals. The Monday Night Football game had a huge impact, right up until the final snap. Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Gates were the difference makers from that game, combining for 46.4 points. Along with those two unique players, Week 4 stalwart Cairo Santos was also a differentiating buy (though he didn’t work out). The only units included in all three winning lineups were Devonta Freeman and the Denver Broncos defense against the Raiders

Looking Toward Week 6

We’ll be awarding three more entries into the $25,000 Week 11 Final of the TeamRankings Football Championship this week.

Like last week, this week’s format is a double up with another $6,000 prize pool and a maximum of 660 entries. The top 300 entries will double their $10 entry fee, and the top three finishers are guaranteed at least $500 in cash come Week 11, with $3,000 in cash going to our Week 11 Final winner.

This week the entry limit is 25 per person, with the deadline on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET. The contest is already filling, so don’t wait!
